So the NGP is on it’s way, here are the details from the coverage on Joystiq.
It looks very pretty. The addition of another analog stick is a welcome, and frankly “about time”, addition to the system. The extra bells and whistles such as the touch sensitive backing, SixAxis, and the promoting of a very diverse and connected social network is looking promising.
The only hesitation I have is the fact that we are in the early stages of the product announcement. One thing I have learned with the announcement of new systems, consoles, handhelds, whatever have you, there are still very “Creative Goals” that they have set for the device. While all Creative Goals are nice to have, they are not always practical or efficient when it reaches the consumer. Some of the goals just disappear, realizing that the product just isn’t capable of it. Other times there are misrepresentation that occurs, leaving people disappointed rather than excited for the new product.
In summation: We shall wait and see. But it sure looks pretty!
